Coastal Project Update – Construction In Full Swing For Kōpū Marine Precinct

Construction is well underway on the Kōpū Marine Precinct, a Regionally Significant coastal infrastructure project on the Waihou River. Urban Solutions were engaged as Engineer to the Contract and lead project managers for this interesting and complex marine project. Urban Solutions led an integrated design and consenting team that expertly expedited this significant development, securing government funding and fast-track consents for the project. Urban Solutions have managed the concept design, design development, detailed design, consenting, awarding of contracts and the monitoring and supervision of the marine and civil construction contracts. The Kōpū Marine Precinct includes a commercial wharf, pontoon, public boat ramp and haulage access area among other facilities. With site works progressing well, we look forward to bringing this important asset online for the local region to benefit for years to come. Coastal Project Update – Whitianga Marina Redevelopment

The Whitianga Marina F-Pier development has reached an exciting milestone with the final commissioning of 32 brand-new berths. Project director and lead consultant, Lorenzo Canal, collaborated closely with renowned marina designer Rob Brown from Shorewise Engineering Consultants, and with support from the wider integrated design team, created a cost-effective and functional engineering design solution for the Whitianga Marina F-Pier development. The successful execution of the project by marine contractors Heron Construction includes 32 new berths and a new 220m long vertical break wall which better utilises the marina’s existing footprint. This project is the final development of a number of recent upgrades for the marina, completing an extensive, multi-million dollar upgrade to future-proof Whitianga Marina. Westgate – Kopupaka Reserve Bridges Open

Recently, residents of Westgate welcomed the completion of two new timber pedestrian bridges to connect the recently completed Kopupaka Playground with the wider path network. The Kopupaka Bridges are a testament to the dedication and commitment of all those involved. The successful completion of the project represents a significant milestone in the development of the Open Space Project and highlights the importance of sustainable infrastructure development that respects cultural values, incorporates community desires, and minimizes environmental impacts.
